Wagner’s Labor Day Celebration is an ongoing and ever evolving tradition of this small Missouri River town since 1900. The weekend of events brings thousands of people to our community every year and is one of the longest and continuous annual citywide celebrations in the state of South Dakota. The celebration consists of three days of events on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday of Labor Day weekend. These events include a carnival, Queen Contest, Festival in the Park, rodeo, mile-long parade, and Saturday night entertainment. The 2018 celebration will offer the illusionist REZA as our Saturday evening entertainment. Other events that have taken place over the years include a rib fest, kiddie tractor pull, poker run, bean bag tournament, mud volleyball, and much more. The Labor Day Committee does a great job in rotating events to keep things interesting, while also bringing back the pillar events that everyone loves.
