Thomas Family Winery and Rustic Bakery

Nestled in an 1850s stable and buggy house, The Thomas Family Winery is only a quick drive from the Ohio River.

The winery prides itself on featuring music from Madisonians’ ancestral cultures, heritages, and traditions, making it a landmark music destination in Madison. Visitors can take advantage of the variety of music– from acoustic, unplugged, real music from Celtic and Bluegrass to mountain and modern folk.

The Thomas Family Winery is just like walking into an old-world public house. The tasting area provides many different foods to check the wines and ciders. The winery is available 7 days a week.

Sam Thomas is another era winemaker from central and southeastern Indiana. He and his wife Elizabeth, who is a tourism professional with an arts background, worked together to rehabilitate this historic building and turn it into a great old-world winery and acquiring place. Winemaking dates returning to the 1930s when Gale Thomas produced cider. Steve worked at his father's winery in Indianapolis intended for 11 years before he and Elizabeth Madison decided to begin their own business– this business– in Madison.
