The Old Bakery Beer Company is one of the coolest spots in all of Southwestern Illinois. When the brewery was founded in 2015, the owners were able to find this former late 1800s-1980s bakery building in downtown Alton. Thus, the Old Bakery Beer Company was born. Operating out of the historic bakery, the new owners feel it is their job to carry on the great legacy of the colonial Alton building. Well, they are doing an excellent job. First, the beers they craft are excellent. With a beer menu divided into three sections, there are plenty of beers for any taste. The first section, light, fruity, or tart is highlighted by Citrus Wheat, Golden Oat, and the Beermosa. The Old Bakery also has some hoppy IPAs including locally brewed North End, as well as Rosemary IPA, and two others. As far as amber or dark beers go, The Old Bakery has you covered- Carrot Cake Brown Ale, Porter, and Migratory Pale Ale. With 18 beers to satisfy any taste- The Old Bakery has a fantastic beer selection.
This spot does a great job at being inclusive for any dietary preference, offering vegan options as well as more traditional food. With a menu that includes the vegan impossible burger, regular bacon burger, the cuban, ruben, BLT, a kids menu, and chorizo or steak tacos- the kitchen knows it isn’t outshined by the brewers.
If you want to have a great night out with family, friends, or your kids- this is the place. The Old Bakery Beer Company has some of the best food and beer in the region, and we hope to see you soon!
