Fish caught from the Columbia River are an important piece of tribal history, connecting all past and present generations. Salmon were routinely sold to and traded with neighboring tribes, settlers and explorers.

Native-owned and operated by Sean and Brigette McConville, Salmon King Fisheries is a commercial, retail and wholesale fishery that sells tribally harvested salmon. Sean and Brigette are members of The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Reservation of Oregon, and The Nez Perce Tribe.

Salmon King Fisheries currently markets twenty-five fish products including sturgeon, spring chinook, sockeye, summer chinook, fall chinook and steelhead. The fish can be purchased fresh, smoked, frozen, fresh canned, smoke canned, smoked vacuum packed and wind-dried. For their canned fish, Salmon King Fisheries uses its own recipe utilizing a minimal amount of salt.

Sean and Brigette offer at least one new item every year and their most recent is a hot Sriracha Smoked Salmon. Every Friday, Brigette features a smoked salmon special, and seasonal gift baskets and food boxes are available. The fishery even offers salmon candy!

The Salmon King Fisheries storefront in Warm Springs, Oregon, is conveniently located next to the Indian Head Casino and across the street from The Museum at Warm Springs. Mouth-watering offerings include smoked salmon hash for breakfast, and smoked salmon salads, wraps and chowder for lunch and dinner. Or enjoy a traditionally cooked salmon meal. The salmon is a tribal member, sole source caught in the Columbia River, filleted and then cooked over an open fire with alder wood.

For a deeper cultural immersion, the store offers the “Native Experience.” Food is cooked for attendees as they enjoy a day eating, creating traditional art, learning cultural history and a Tipi stay. Individual classes or groups up to twenty are accommodated.

The Salmon King Fisheries store sells beautiful native-inspired jewelry, gifts, crafts and a wide array of beads. Traditional arts include handmade items by Sean and Brigette and local tribal members. Sewing and basketry supplies are available for visitors to create their own pieces of in-store art. “Bead and Breakfast” and “Weave and Breakfast” events combine traditional art techniques with food sampling. Traditional tribal education is offered along with videos and show and tell.

In addition to a huge variety of retail fish and dining at the storefront, Salmon King catering provides exception food experiences for weddings, corporate functions, parties, meetings and special events. Venues served include bed and breakfast locations, as well as participation in many events throughout the year, including the regional Fall Festival and River to Table event.
