Penn Brewery is the oldest and largest brewery in Pittsburgh. The pub has roots that go back to 1848, when Germans from the Eberhardt and Ober families migrated to Pittsburgh. Penn Brewery officially started business in 1986 and has only grown since then, adding a restaurant serving up Pittsburgh favorites since 1989.
The pub’s North Side building offers customers seating indoors and outdoors. They have weekly happy-hour specials and have different-themed events throughout the year, such as their “Soul-Sucker” Halloween Party. Penn Brewery also has buildings registered in the National Register of Historic Places, that being the E&O Brewery Building. All these qualities alongside a rich quantity of award- winning IPAs to choose from make it no secret how Penn Brewery has seen such success.
