Dobra Tea is a “teahouse with snacks and a hippie vibe,” located in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Established in 2012 by the Society of Tea Devotees, it has been a warm place for locals and university students to come and enjoy tea and snacks in a soothing atmosphere.

The atmosphere of Dobrá Tea is warm and inviting and presents visitors with a Moroccan Casbah style. At the entrance of Dobrá Tea is a display of some of the varieties of teas offered. Dobrá Tea has an extensive list of teas of different varieties worth trying.

The Society of Tea Devotees started in Prague, Czechoslovakia during the fall of communism during a time when high-quality tea was a valued commodity. The group of devotees would smuggle samples of rare Indian, Chinese and Japanese teas into their borders. The first Bohemian-style tearoom, Dobrá Čajovna, opened in 1993 in Prague. A decade later Dobrá Tea opened its first US tearoom in Burlington VT. Since then 5 other locations, including the Pittsburgh location, have been established across the East Coast.

Once a year the Society of Tea Devotees travel around the world to tea growing countries to find new varieties of teas and source all of their teas directly from their regions of origin. Since the society’s establishment, they have devoted themselves to offering high-quality teas to the masses.

The Varieties of teas Dobrá Tea offers are:

  • Aromatized
  • Black
  • Chinese
  • Green
  • Herbal
  • Indian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Nepalese
  • Oolong
  • Pu-Er
  • Sri Lankan
  • Taiwanese
  • Yellow

The tearoom is a unique place where anyone can enjoy a relaxing, quality cup of tea.
