Regarded as one of the most iconic suspension bridges, the Wheeling suspension bridge is a must-see for any passerbys in the Wheeling area. The bridge spans the main channel of the Ohio River from Wheeling, West Virginia and was the first bridge built across the Ohio River. The suspension bridge is 1,010 feet and was once the largest suspension bridge from 1849 to 1851. Today, it is now a designated National Historic Landmark. Visitors are able to walk through the bridge but are cautioned to walk when there is bridge repairs. It is an excellent bridge to also stop by and take a photo of for its grandeur.
