Pittsburgh sports are undoubtedly one of the city’s defining features; after all, it is nicknamed the “City of Champions!”
The Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum, located within the Heinz History Center, is the ideal place where visitors can learn first-hand about this Pittsburgh staple! In this dynamic museum-within-a-museum, visitors can experience the thrill of Western Pennsylvania’s unmatched sports legacy (and also enjoy the History Center as an added bonus!).
The glory of Super Bowl, World Series, and Stanley Cup victories, the grit and sweat of a high school football tradition, the stories of Pittsburgh’s unmatched Negro League tradition, and much more is captured inside this museum.
Visitors first enter into a two-story, multi-screen theatre playing iconic, spine-tingling moments throughout sports, and then are able to continue on to a 20,000 square feet exhibit with more than 70 hands-on interactive exhibits. The entire family will undoubtedly be entertained!
