Victoria Theater or “The Victoria Vaudeville,” which first opened its doors in 1904, is West Virginia’s oldest operational theater. The Victoria is an 800-seat Victorian-style theater with strong Beaux-Arts design elements, located in Wheeling’s listed historic market area. The Victoria Theater hosted the WWVA Jamboree (later called “Jamboree USA”), the second longest-running radio show in the United States, for a brief while in 1934. It is situated in Market Street between the 12th and 14th streets in downtown Wheeling, West Virginia. The theater now hosts live performances such as an Elvis impersonator, country, bluegrass, rock, and gospel music, as well as events for people of all ages.
