This unique art gallery, operated by the Brownville Fine Arts Association, hosts artist shows, art events, and art classes inside the Governor Robert W. Furnas Arboretum. Originally a one-room schoolhouse built in 1898, it now features local artists for displays, lectures, workshops, and receptions. A speaker series continues the Schoolhouse’s educational mission, as talks are presented on a variety of subjects including books, living history, and nature. All events at the Schoolhouse Art Gallery are free and open to the public. Nature enthusiasts and art lovers are united at the Schoolhouse, where visitors can learn something new and explore the natural beauty of the region.
