River’s Edge Trail (Great Falls)

Walk, hike, jog, skate, cycle or mountain bike the Missouri River’s shores throughout the city of Great Falls and extending downriver. With nearly 60 miles of trails on both sides, unique views and Lewis and Clark interpretive sites await.

The River’s Edge Trail connects many significant Lewis and Clark sites including West End Park, Black Eagle Falls, Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center, Giant Springs, Rainbow Falls Overlook, Big Falls at Ryan Dam, and Sulphur Springs.

There are dozens of trailhead access points and tread varies from accessible pavement to unpaved single track. There are also limited options for crossing the river—so be sure to get a map before you start! Printed maps are available at local bike shops, the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, Giant Springs State Park, and the Great Falls Visitor Information Center.
