Omaha National Cemetery
The Omaha National VA Cemetery is the newest national cemetery in the Midwest to honor those who served our country. The new 236-acre cemetery in Sarpy County, Nebraska will serve the burial needs of more than 112,000 Veterans in the cemetery’s service area for the next 100 years. This cemetery is the second Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) national cemetery in the State of Nebraska.
The cemetery master plan responds to the natural features of the site employing sustainable design practices. The plan utilizes regional vernacular to help inform both the land plan and the architecture to create a warm ‘sense of place’.
