Check out this 2.1-mile out-and-back trail near Granite City, Illinois. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 40 min to complete. This is a very popular area for road biking, running, and walking, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime.
This is a great trail across the bridge and has incredible views. This bridge was featured in a scene from Escape from New York. It’s also part of the old Route 66. On the Missouri side of the bridge, there are restrooms and picnic tables. Parking is on the Illinois side only. No motor vehicles allowed, but bikes and pedestrians are ok.
