Mineo’s was founded by John Mineo, who moved from his small town in Sicily to the neighborhood of Squirrel Hill in 1955. He purchased a storefront in 1958 and immediately began making a name for both himself and his pizza in Pittsburgh. Mineo’s Pizza has since been passed down through three generations, and they continue to carry their tradition rooted in homemade ingredients and attention to detail. It is truly a Pittsburgh family tradition.
Mineo’s now has three locations, all of which serve their original homemade menu. The pizza is always served piping hot, composed of homemade dough, sauce with tomatoes from Italy, and premium cheeses; they even have the option for pizza kits that are perfect for a make your own pizza night! The menu also boasts hoagies, salads, and desserts that sufficiently accompany or take the place of pizza. Mineo’s is Pittsburgh’s signature pizza place, and this family business is one supported and loved by both local and visiting families.
