Located just 6.5 miles from Ironton, Ohio, Lake Vesuvius is the perfect place to stop for a natural getaway. Visitors can rent out a kayak or paddle board should they wish to enjoy the water! There are multiple good picnic areas as well as lookouts to enjoy the gorgeous views of the lake and the surrounding scenery. Along the lake, there are several trails that visitors can walk through. Hikes at Lake Vesuvius trails tend to be on the moderate scale of difficulty. Entrance to the lake is free and the site is open year-round for visitors.
