No need to travel to Italy to visit the gorgeous sights of Lake Como; Montana has its own version, and it is located in the gorgeous Bitterroot Valley, just outside of Darby and Hamilton! The lake, or rather dam, was constructed by farmers in 1910. Surrounded by gorgeous mountain scenery, the lake has become a favorite amongst locals as the perfect place to stop by during the summer with opportunities to partake in many activities; visit the lake to swim, hike, fish, and/or boat. Taking a trip to Lake Como is a great way to beat the summer heat, with water staying at ideal temperatures for the aforementioned from mid-June through August. There are also many gorgeous hiking trails in and around the area for a quick day trip, with some of them even open all year round.
