As the sporting event that Kentucky is most known for, if you are in the surrounding Louisville area it is a necessity to visit the Kentucky Derby Museum. This museum shows the full history of the historic event from all the way from the very first derby in 1875. All tours include a tour of Churchill Downs and provides access to the full grounds. The museum is open from 8am to 5pm every Monday through Saturday (exception to federal holidays) as well as Sundays from 11am to 5pm. Tickets to the museum cost $20 for adults with discounted pricing for youth and seniors. Located inside the museum are the Derby Cafe and the Bourbon Bar should you want food during your visit to the museum. For more information, visit https://www.derbymuseum.org/.
