Lining the Monongahela River, the Hazelwood Green Riverfront Trail is a 1.9 mile long, 10-foot wide asphalt trail and is the perfect place to run, bike, or walk year round. The trail connects Hazelwood to surrounding Pittsburgh neighborhoods and their trails, allowing for easy, non-motorized access to the city and its surrounding regions!
The trail can be accessed via its Northern and Southern points. The Northern entrance has a bicycle ramp to allow for a smooth transition onto the trail! To encourage cyclist usage even more so, the trail implemented a bicycle fix-it station which provides users with various bike tools, an air pump, and a hook that can help hang the bike during necessary repairs. This newly developed trail has all of the desirable qualities and utilities of the perfect community hiking/biking thoroughfare, all while providing its users with the beautiful backdrop of Pittsburgh’s skyline as they travel through the community of Hazelwood.
