There’s no better place to stop by if you’re interested in learning more about the intersection between indigenous history and higher education than Haskell Indian Nations University Cultural Center and Museum. Honored throughout the museum are exhibitions celebrating tribal military history and those that served in World War I and II. In particular, they celebrate the life and accomplishments of Chester Nez, a Navajo code talker and alumnus of University of Kansas. The museum is open form 9am-4pm on weekday and visitors are always welcome to schedule a group tour (groups can be from 2 to 40 people!)
