Come explore the historic Four Bears Bridge! Originally constructed in 1934, the Four Bears Bridge spans the Missouri River on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation. This iconic bridge replaced the Verendrye Bridge and underwent significant changes over the years. In 1955, it was relocated due to the construction of the Garrison Dam and the creation of Lake Sakakawea. A new Four Bears Bridge was completed in 2005, honoring its rich heritage. The south end of the bridge is dedicated to the Mandan Chief Four Bears (Mato Tope), reflecting the deep cultural significance of the area. Visit the Four Bears Bridge to appreciate its historical importance and the stunning views it offers of the Missouri River and surrounding landscapes!
