Honoring the legacy of one of the most important members of Astoria’s history, the Flavel House is a must- visit should you be interested in learning more about Astoria’s rich history. Having been listed on the National Register of Historic Sites since 1951, this illustrious house features architecture and styling characteristic of the 1890s. Throughout the house are a multitude of trees and flowers grown on the Flavel House grounds, most of which were acquired from Captain Flavel’s many adventures. The museum is open from 10am-5pm in May-September and 10am-4pm from October-April. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors, and $2 for youth. The house is one of the most recognizable monuments of the Queen Anne architecture style and is well known for its elegant style.
