Flatwater Folk Art Museum

Located in the heart of historic Brownville, Nebraska, the Flatwater Folk Art Museum preserves art that reflects the “human spirit and passion of common folk.”  Well-organized and well-preserved, the collection is managed by an experienced curator best known for his fine art presentations.  The museum is inside an 1885 American Prairie Gothic Church, which was renovated and redesigned for the museum.  From game boards to fishing lures, duck decoys and whirligigs, the Flatwater Folk Art Museums emphasizes the extraordinary artistic expressions found in ordinary objects.  With art that represents human traditions including lived experiences, ceremonies, and rituals, this museum showcases what it means to be human.
