The world’s largest indoor desert is located in Omaha, under the world’s largest glazed geodesic dome. The dome contains flora and fauna from three deserts: the Namib of southern Africa, the Red Center of Australia, and the Sonoran of the southwestern United States. With 84,000 square feet over two levels, there is much to explore. The three desert landscapes within the dome are divided by the 55-foot-tall Central Mountain. Experience exotic reptile species, unique geographic features, and desert biodiversity, all within the confines of the Dome. Desert Dome is part of the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, one of the world’s premier zoos.
