Beaver Area Heritage Museum and 1802 Cabin
The Beaver Area Heritage Museum and 1802 Log House offer a glimpse of the life in 1803 when Lewis and his flotilla struggled to get past the ‘riffles’ above and below the mouth of the Beaver River. The museum showcases exhibits on the people, objects, and events that shaped Beaver’s history with a collection of rare artifacts.
The 1802 Log House is rebuilt from old timbers, possibly from Fort McIntosh. Inside, you’ll find cured furs, dried herbs, household items from 1802, and landscaping with native plants from that era.
