Between North Head Road and Beards Hollow, a portion of the Discovery Trail will take you to where William Clark and his group came upon Long Beach and continued north along its sands:
“I proceeded up this coast 4 miles and marked my name on a low pine.”
—William Clark
Today, the trail is level and well-maintained with bridges and pavement in places making this a great hike for everyone. Here, you can travel in the footsteps of the Lewis and Clark Expedition on November 19, 1805!
