Broadcasting a Dream

Siouxland Catholic Radio went on the air, serving the Tri-State Area, in 2008. However, few people know that the groundwork for bringing the station to listeners began sometime in the 1970s.

On Sunday, September 22, 2024, join Joanne Fox, author of “Broadcasting a Dream: 15 years of KFHC Catholic Radio, 2008-2023” as she relates the “rest of the story” of Channel 88.1FM. The event is free with a reception to follow.

Joanne Fox currently serves as president of the Siouxland Catholic Radio board and hosts a one-hour, weekly public affairs program for the station called “Faith in Action.” She spent a five-decade career in the field of journalism, retiring in 2019 from The Catholic Globe, former newspaper for the Diocese of Sioux City. A Sioux City native, she was awarded a bachelor of journalism degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a master of journalism degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
