Frick Park, spanning a wide 644 acres, is Pittsburgh’s largest historic regional park. It is not only a vast source of green space but also stands as a perfect escape from the busy city. Frick has been open since 1927 and has only continued to grow since then.

Also known as Pittsburgh’s Woodland Park, Frick boasts countless amounts of trails through trees, across streams, and up and down steep valleys. Visitors are able to run, bike, or hike through the park, spending hours exploring the seemingly endless trail options. Features such as the Frick Environmental Center are also easily accessible from the trails, allowing visitors to take a brief (and also educational) break if wanted.

The park caters to individuals from all age groups: there is Clayton hill, where more than 100 species of birds have been spotted, the famous Blue Slide Park, an impressive playground that is always overpopulated by children, various sports courts and fields, and a fenced-in dog park where animal friends can be let off their leashes. Even if you visited every day of the week, you could still find a new area of the park to explore each day!
