Get ready to smell the wood, see the wood chips fly, and learn about the history of an American icon. We’ve been making baseball bats since 1884, when 17-year-old Bud Hillerich crafted the company’s first bat for a local superstar hitter. Over 125 years later, the Hillerich family still owns the business and still prides itself on the customer service that goes into every bat produced for the pros. Our award-winning factory tour is a highlight of the visit here, but there’s plenty more to enjoy, too!
Admire the World’s Biggest Bat stretching 120 feet into the sky. Crawl through a huge baseball glove, carved from prehistoric limestone. Face down a 90-mph fastball hurled by a major-league pitcher. Count the homerun notches Babe Ruth carved into his Louisville Slugger bat. Step into our batting cages and take some swings with a replica model of your hero’s bat. Or, take some cuts with our latest line of aluminum and composite TPX and TPS baseball and softball bats.
Our world-famous tour begins with a thrilling movie that transports you to the forests and mills where every Louisville Slugger bat begins.
After that, walk through the heart of our factory production line and check out the steps that go into the bat-making process including the creation of our fan favorite mini-bats.
At the end of the tour, you’ll get a free souvenir mini-bat in a newly revamped gallery that showcases quotes about Louisville Slugger from superstars like Babe Ruth, Roberto Clemente and Cool Papa Bell.
You can also create a bat with your own name on it, just like the pros. Your bat can also be personalized with a special message. They make great gifts for all kinds of special occasions, from newborn babies, to groomsmen gifts, to team trophies and more.
Fun, interactive exhibits. A fascinating bat factory tour. A free souvenir mini-bat! Those are just a few of the experiences at Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory.
