Amelia Earhart Birthplace Museum
At the Amelia Earhart Birthplace Museum, visitors are transported back to the early 1900s. In the home that the world’s greatest aviator grew up, you can’t help but feel attached to the period of history that raised Amelia. In the house, visitors will find beautiful works of art, antique furniture from the early 1900s, and one of a kind items not seen in any other place. Guests also won’t want to miss the display of clothes worn by Hilary Swank and other items from the movie “Amelia.”
On the second floor of the Amelia Earhart Birthplace Museum, visitors will find the home’s bedrooms. Amelia was born in the west end of the large bedroom. On the other end of this room, the small front bedroom was Amelia’s, has a breathtaking view of the Missouri River and pushes you into the headspace that led to Earhart’s brilliance. In the upstairs bedrooms, visitors will be impressed with the various keepsakes and personal items that seem untouched since 1935, when Amelia last visited the home.
When Lewis and Clark trudged through the Great Plains, they laid the groundwork for the life of Earhart. All of history is related, and this is no exception.
