Check out this 2.5-mile loop trail near Kansas City, Missouri. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 44 min to complete. This is a popular trail for hiking, road biking, and running, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
The park’s name, “Platte Landing,” honors the Missouri River’s historical importance as the primary means of travel and commerce in the early development of Platte County. The trail meanders along the Missouri River. Following the trail around Platte Landing Park, you’ll be treated to beautiful river views. A notable feature is the natural wetland area, accessible via a boardwalk, where you can observe wildlife in their habitat.
