If you seek solitude and a flat day hike along the Snake River, then this segment of the Columbia Plateau Trail system is for you. The old railroad tracks have been removed, so you can have a relatively easy hike along Lake Sacajawea—the pool behind Ice Harbor Dam—and the enormous Sacajawea Lake Eddy Bar—created by the Ice Age Floods.

There is no shade, so dress appropriately, brings lots of water, and consider avoiding the heat of the day. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.
