Lewis and Clark Keelboat in Atchison, Kansas

A unique living history experience is coming to Atchison, Kansas on October 10th – 13th.  The Discovery Expedition of St Charles replica Lewis and Clark keelboat is journeying down the Missouri River.  You don’t want to miss the exciting opportunity to see reenactors dressed in buckskins and uniforms. These reenactors will bring the expedition to life, demonstrating skills such as firing flintlock muskets, cooking over open campfires, and sleeping in canvas tents, offering a glimpse into the daily lives of the explorers.  Join us at Veteran’s Memorial Park where the boat will be moored.

This Missouri River journey is organized by the Lewis & Clark Boat House and Museum in St. Charles, and the reenactors are part of the Lewis & Clark Discovery Expedition of St. Charles. The group, which includes over 100 reenactors, is dedicated to teaching history through immersive, living-history experiences. Around 40 volunteers are involved in planning and executing this river expedition.
