A UNESCO recognized artistic site AND Paducah’s most visited monument, the Floodwall Murals
continues to be one of the most significant and important monuments representing Paducah’s history.
Beginning in 1996, each mural represents a unique part of Paducah’s history and there are 30 panels
for viewing with the last 10 being unveiled in 2022. Visitors are also able to walk on the iconic
riverfront. One of the primary artists that worked on the murals, Robert Dafford described the walls as
“a piece of art that has something to do with the people who live there. It’s their art. It’s their history.
It’s their ancestry.” If you are interested in learning more about the murals, visit
