Portland is very fortunate to have some of the most beautiful natural fauna and roses. Visitors to the
area must visit the Portland International Rose Test Garden, the oldest officially operated public rose
test garden in the United States. There are over 10,000 roses for viewing and the garden is open daily
with free admission. The best months to visit are from May to September! The garden is also
wheelchair and stroller accessible. Many of the roses are also available for purchase. There are also
several competitions featured in the test garden. The rose test garden is an excellent place for a serene
walk and to enjoy the beautiful smell of blooming roses.
