Negro Leagues Baseball Museum

The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum is the world’s only museum dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history of African-American baseball and its impact in the social advancement of America. Since opening their doors in 1991, the museum has welcomed more than 2 million visitors and has become recognized as one of the most important cultural institutions for its work to give voice to a once forgotten chapter in American history. In July 2006, United States Congress gave the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum national designation, thereby earning the distinction of being “America’s National Negro League Baseball Museum.”
