West Coast Shoe Company, also known as Wesco Shoes, is an internationally acclaimed boot manufacturer with headquarters in the small town of Scappoose, Oregon. John H. Shoemaker established the business in 1918 in Portland and took it to a brick building in Scappoose in 1933, where it has been operating ever since. The business was the largest employer of locals during the city’s growth period between 1930 and 1950.
