Missouri Meerschaum Company
Would you have expected there to be a “corncob pipe capital of the world?” Believe it or not, Washington, Missouri, holds this unique distinction. The Missouri Meerschaum Company is the world’s oldest and largest producer of corncob pipes in the world, operating since 1869. The company runs a museum and retail shop located on the riverfront right next to their still-active pipe factory, and admission is free.
