Located on the Loess Hills National Scenic Byway, Magnolia was the first city established in Harrison County.  It is home to the Log Cabin Museum, which was built in 1926 with donated time and materials for the purpose of making a county memorial to its pioneers and early settlers.  Another community fixture is the Town Pump.  Built in 1907 to supply water to the surrounding community, it is now used as a benchmark for giving directions.

To embrace their rich history, Magnolia hosts the annual Magnolia Old Settlers Reunion every 3rd weekend in August.  With activities for all ages, the festival includes a parade, games, food, and a dance.  The extended Embrace the Hills annual bike ride route goes through Magnolia.
