E•KLeK•TiX, located in Ste. Genevieve Missouri’s historic downtown district, features original artwork by resident artist J Rissover, plus a selection of unique giftware from around the world. Rissover’s figurative work, much of which focuses on the lives of women and the town’s French colonial history, has won awards in the region. The artist paints at the gallery during the hours it is open.

Jean Rissover started her painting journey in 2011 at the age of 70. Recently retired, Rissover was able to rekindle her passion for art. Prior to painting, she held a variety of jobs over her life including teaching, event organization, social worker, antique shop owner, and managing editor of the Ste. Genevieve Harald, from which she retired. Her works, in her own words, are supposed to be narrative in nature. She wants to tell the stories of the different figures who live in her head. E*Klek*TiX was opened to help showcase the painting that had been starting to pile up in her basement. Her works have won a number of awards and several of her pieces now reside in private collects.

E*Klek*TiX features about 75 paintings along with a variety of other pieces that Rissover has sourced from artisans around the world.
