This is the only Civil War Museum in Nebraska. It is located in a Grand Army of the Republic Hall built in 1894. At one time, there were more than 100 G.A.R. Halls in Nebraska. The Nebraska City G.A.R. Hall is the only one of these halls in the state that has undergone restoration and development as a museum.
Dedicated to the memory of the Union and Confederate veterans, the G.A.R. Hall is a reminder to us and to our children of the presence of Civil War veterans in Nebraska City and the role they played in the growth of the community, state and nation after the war.
